Utah State Fair

A few weekends ago, we hit up the State Fair with our friends the Morbys and the Steeds.  We went with them last year too, so I think it is officially on our annual fall bucket list.  Now if we could only get them to drop the $10 fee to get in (since you have to pay to do anything in there anyway...), then it would be perfect!

Madness.  It was probably one of the busiest nights there. There were soooo many people.

Mesmerized by all of the lights.

Getting up close and personal with the sheep.

Okay, maybe a little too close for his liking

I thin Owen likes animals from afar. These huge cows were a bit too much for him (though, can you blame him?) so he wanted to just cuddle close to dad.

Happy, slobbery boy. This is what getting 7 teeth in a row will do to you!

Petting the goat

Staring at the ferris wheel

Every year, Zac tries this hanging ladder thing. When the carnie does it, it looks like a breeze. Zac is the only "real" person I have seen do it! But this year, hardly anyone made it past the first rung!

Partying on dad's shoulders

The Steeds

We took the babies on this slide.

This thing was FAST!

And clearly Owen did not like it!

Next up was the carousel. For some reason, Owen seems like he is going to like it.

Trying to see if he would like it better with Jordan actually riding it with him

He was too embarrassed for a pic

And nope, he still didn't care for it. Granted, it was about 10 pm (2 hours past his bedtime) by this time. So he was a little cranky!

A Day at the Park

I think my summer regret hits every year around August.  I start to realize that the summer is coming to a close and fall into a slight depression that I didn't make the most of it!  I try to cram as much as I can into the last few days to enjoy the warm weather while it is still here!  I was so mad at myself that I hadn't been going to the park with Owen so he could enjoy it - then it hit me... NOW is the perfect time to go to the park.  It's not too hot and Owen can actually almost play at the park now that is much more mobile.

BED HEAD! Between trying to match up friend's nap times, we don't have a lot of time to get out of the door when Owen wakes up from his nap.

Brave boy. He climbs all over that toy. I wish they weren't so high... or didn't have holes that little babies could slip through!  I am a nervous wreck when he plays on it.

Again with the bed head

Climbing up the slide

Park day became the best when this dog showed up!  He's obsessed.

Wilmington, NC part 2

On our fourth day, we decided to head back up to Wilmington, NC.  We both loved it there and wanted to enjoy it without the rain.  We met up with Erin and Mike for brunch.

"Come on dad". Love this pic. Looks like he is dragging him along.

Owie and Auntie  Erin

Waiting for brunch

After brunch, we met up with Shauna and headed to Brighton beach.  Along with all of North Carolina.  There was traffic everywhere, but we still managed to find the perfect spot with hardly anyone in sight! (after waiting for about an hour in a line for parking...)

Head to toe in sand 5 minutes in.

Owen and Bluesy

He loved walking around in the waves.

That face...

Auntie Shavs

Blooper face. Owen's face cracks me up... he kind of looks like a gremlin or something

Gripping him tightly so he didn't wander off and float away (yes, I had those morbid thoughts running through my head all day)

Yes, I'm aware I look 11 months pregnant. Rest assured, the only baby growing in there was a food baby from brunch.

The greenery was unreal.

That night, we headed back to Myrtle Beach and went to a different outdoor mall on the water where we enjoyed some ice cream and a nice walk.

There were tigers from a local reserve there to try to raise funds.  They were CRAZY. Definitely much cooler than the ones at the zoo. They were running around, jumping in the water, wrestling, etc.

My hair is so scary in this picture, but I sacrificed so you could see the beauty of the lake! Humidity + beach + half a shower = scary hair.

Turned the corner at the lake and saw this and nearly had a heart attack.  We were on season one of Prison Break. I hate T-bag so much.

The next morning we headed home!  I felt like our vacation was so short since the first two days it rained almost the entire time.  I think it is safe to say that as long as Jordan's dad lives in Myrtle Beach, we will be heading out there every couple of years.  The flight home was long as you can imagine.  Owen luckily fell asleep on the second flight for about an hour, but we had a lot of entertaining to do in between!  Thanks for the great time Mark, Erin and Shauna!
