Hooray for New Years!

Wow... that title is decieving. I am actually not a fan of the over-hyped New Year's Eve. I personally think it is extremely overrated. There are distinct requirements that must be met in order to have a good New Year's Eve holiday.
1-It must be on a normal day of the week
2-There must be a fun activity to go to
3-Fun friends must be in attendance
...None of which were fulfilled this year. Yep, another lame New Year's Eve goes down the drain. My holiday was spent sitting around with my family... well sort of. My dad left to walk the dogs, my mom went to bed, my older sister was chatting on the phone with her friend and my little sister was sitting on the couch watching "Meet Me in St. Louis". At 10:30, I finally told myself I had had enough and called one of the few friends I have out here. She informed me of an AWESOME (aka, not awesome) YSA activity that would be taking place. I thought, hey beggars can't be choosers, count me in. Immediately after I had committed, I regretted my decision. As we pulled up to the house, I saw many cars and thought that maybe it wasn't going to be as bad as I thought. Well, I was wrong. We got in the house and it appeared that everyone had driven seperately (I could have sworn some of them even brought two cars!). There was a small group of no more than 12 people sitting around watching "Return to Me". Yes, this was how they were spending the start of the New Year. I knew that I should have come up with some kind of sign to leave. We finally got some people to play a card game... but that only lasted so long. Finally the 5 minute mark came and we started to get our sparkling cider ready. Well, the ball dropped and by 12:09 that house was vacant. Yes, it ended that fast. I then found myself going to my friend's house where we played Murder in the Dark and Cherades until about 2:30. Oh and did I mention that the people we were playing with were ages 7-15? Yeah... New Year's Eve rocks.
