Engagement Pics Take Three

Just kidding... but I don't really know what else to call pictures of couples without any children. Pretty sure most people don't usually go and get them taken. However, we were lucky enough to! My friend, Natalie, wanted some subjects to practice on and we were the ones chosen (aka I volunteered us). We found a pretty field that had a tractor in it and our pictures turned out awesome! Her and her husband are just starting to get more into photography and they are awesome at it! Check out their blog at www.fennphotography.blogspot.com. Hey Everyone! Come See How Good They Look!

So when we first moved into our apartment... um 4 months ago... we got these chairs from my grandpa. Now if you had seen them then, you probably would have gagged. These were NASTY, RATTY chairs. He owns a bunch of rentals and I am assuming these were left behind. They were a rotten color and COVERED in stains. At first when he offered them to me, I wanted to decline cause what the heck was I going to do with these nasty chairs?! But then the wheels began to turn and I thought that perhaps I could give them a little make over.

This is after they were painted... or after the first coat I guess. The backs were a nice rusted, off white color. Beautiful.

Well they sat there for about four months. I painted the backs of the chairs when we first moved in, but they have just been sitting there since. I had high hopes of getting fabric and that took about three months. I finally picked some up at Ikea for $1.99 a yard. A few weeks ago, I dissembled them in hopes of one day completing the task, but again, they sat there.

FINALLY, last night I finished them! They look a lot better than I expected. Jordan kinda likes them too!

If you ever come and see them, don't look on the bottom... it was my first experience with a staple gun.

Silly Laine

So in my last post, I had a picture of me and my niece Hayden who wanted to show her styled hair to my other niece Laine, who lives in Australia. My sister, Natalie, showed the pictures to Laine and this is what she said:

"I showed the pic to Laine, and then she looked down and saw the picture of you, and here is what she said, 'I wish I could be like that someday' and I thought, oh, how sweet. So I asked her to what she meant, just to clarify, and she said, 'I wish I could be like Laine, like me'"

HA!

Since most of you don't know Laine, it probably won't be funny to you... But for those of you who do knows that this is only something we would expect from the little booger. I mostly posted it for my family so they could see what the funny girl said since most don't read the old comments.

California '08

I am a little late on posting about the California trip, but as expected, we have been having internet issues. Last week, Jordan couldn't sleep, so he came into the front room to watch TV and try to fall asleep on the couch. When he picked up a blanket from the corner of the room, he realized that it was completely soaked because our house was flooding. Fantastic. So when we woke up, we called the maintenance people who came and checked it out. Apparently there was a broken sprinkler and somehow it seeped through the walls or something into our house (our apartment is semi-below ground). We got it all cleaned up, but it appeared that our internet was effected for a few days. My guess is that the insides of the cable plug was wet or something, but one day it didn't work and the next it worked. I'll take it.

ANYWAY. Onto the trip.

I went out there for my friends Justin and Christiana's wedding. It was a very last minute trip since I decided to go on a Tuesday and left the next morning. It was so worth it though. It was great to be there for their special time and I am so glad that I went. I was really skeptical of going because I would miss three days of work (it was crunchtime since school was about to start and we were trying to save up as much money as we could) and this may sound dumb, but I just really didn't want to leave Jordan! Haha, I know, I am a dork. But this was our first time apart since we have been married. And this was for five whole days! I know, I am pathetic, but I got over it as you can tell.

They were married on Friday the 22nd in the Sacramento Temple. I have never been inside that temple, so it was awesome to be able to go inside.

The other reason I went out was to spend time with my sister Nicole and her four kids. It was so much fun to be with them for a few days. They are so fun and never disappoint. They always love to get up at about 5 am and so they would come in my room and I would kindly ask them to just give me until 6:30 or 7:00. So if you think this was a relaxing vacation with sleeping in, you stand corrected.

One day I straightened Hayden's hair and she demanded I take a picture so Laine (her cousin) could see because she said that she looked like Laine with her hair done like that. (So Nat, if you could show this to Laine, Hayden would sure appreciate it.)

Isn't he such a handsome little boy? This is our little Peter Pan (aka Jaxton) who refuses to grow up. I was loving the buzz cut that he had to get after Hayden played beauty shop on his hair--not while I was there.

Saturday, we went swimming at Nick's mom's house. We had a lot of fun although I wasn't really in the mood for swimming (even though it was my idea). The girls liked swimming though. They had fun playing ice cream shop, naked swimming and a racing (Hallie and Hayden). Hayden is such a good swimmer so I challenged them to a race. Hayden won (after a minor push from Nick) and Hallie FREAKED out saying that she cheated. I swear, that girl is premenstrual. Haha.

All in all, it was a great trip and I am so glad that I decided to go.

I Think I Might Be Crazy

There is nothing I hate more than walking on campus along a lonely path (usually coming home from campus) and hearing rustling in the bushes. Like serious rustling. I can't help but wonder what the heck is in those bushes causing such a ruckus! I pray with all of my might that whatever it is that I am walking next to doesn't jump out and attack me... be it a squirrel, large cat, mountain lion, snake, lizard or what have you. And if you have read my blog or any of my sisters, you know that we are deathly afraid of snakes. DEATHLY. So I just try not to imagine the possibilities of what is in there and get out of there ASAP. So don't be surprised if you are walking behind me and you see me start randomly jogging past those scary bushes.

P.S. I am well aware that I haven't posted about my trip from CA. It is still currently a draft since I was almost done the other day and my computer had a minor malfunction. And I have been too lazy to write it again ever since.
