These kiddies are coming into town and I can't wait!

My niece and nephew are coming into town today from "down unda". I saw them in December and had fun while they stayed with us for a day or two. I never posted the pics, but now is a good time.

This was actually on Jordan's birthday. I love this picture. They both look so cute!
New Year's Eve. Sometime after midnight. As you can see Jordan is quite sleepy and Laine has more energy than ever.

Gabe(y) earning his keep helping me take out the trash. He INSISTED on carrying it around.

Watching the fireworks. Again, Laine was hyper.

I can't believe how fast they are growing up! Laine is a big girl now and is in "kindie". I forget how much she is starting to remember. I called her the other day to chat and she was playing Gaengy and Pop Pop's Wii. I told her that I had one too. She said, "I know. You showed it to me last time." Oh. Right.

Laine, you want some ham with that cheese?

I am sad that they will only be in town for a few days and I don't even want to think about when the next time I will see them will be since they aren't coming home for Christmas. I guess I better enjoy the time while it lasts!

Cars are stupid. Nice kids are neat.

One of our many failed attempts...

We FINALLY got our other car fixed this past week. When we got back from Christmas break, it just wouldn't start. We had no idea what was wrong with it and always had plans of getting it fixed. We tried to figure it out on our own, but let's be honest, neither Jordan or I are really "car people" so we didn't get very far. We tried jumping it, replacing the fuses, etc, but nothing worked. Since I am only taking one class this semester and working full time, our schedules were close enough together, that having one car hasn't been horrible. Since I will be going back to school, we figured it would be best to just bite the bullet and take it to a shop.

So we FINALLY got it towed to the shop. Turns out it was just a few fuses that needed to be replaced... I think. I don't actually know, Jordan tried to explain it to me, but again, refer to our car knowledge above.

We picked it up yesterday and it felt so weird to drive to work all by myself this morning rather than getting dropped off. It started like a charm. Then I had to run an errand for work. Not the exact start that I remember from earlier that morning... but it started nonetheless. Then I tried to start my car again to go back to work from my errand. No dice. So here I am, stranded at Einstein Bagels. Trying over and over again to start my car. I must have looked really clueless because the next thing I know, there is what I am guessing to be a 10 year old kid standing by my window. I am assuming that maybe he wants to talk to me, so I roll down my window. And in the sweetest little voice says, "I don't know much about cars, but I want to try to help you anyway that I can." Seriously, I about died right there. So the kid and I start trying to start it again. He told me to try and give it a little gas, but it still didn't work. So I decided that I should probably try to call someone to come and get me. So he just stayed there with my while I called my boss. I told him that someone was on their way and he gave me a thumbs up and said, "Ok thank you". Wait, you are thanking me? Please bless that I wil have an angel child like him someday!

Moral of the story: Cars are stupid. Nice kids are neat.

In case you are wondering, we did get the car started and it is now sitting in my work parking lot. Hopefully it starts when it is time for me to leave!
