Are there any breastfeeding mamas in UT county willing to donate some pumped milk? There is a foster baby in the area (2 weeks old, mother is a meth addict) who is allergic to formula and is in DESPERATE need of breastmilk! Even if it is just one time, anything will help. Please let me know! (sorry for the awkward post, but this poor baby really needs it!)

A Little Road Trip
On the road
This weekend we got away for a little road trip to St George. Jordan planned a golf trip with some friends and stayed at my parent's rental house in Hurricane. Owen and I decided to tag a long and stayed at my parent's house with them in Ivins.
I was a little worried about the drive since the furthest we have gone is to Salt Lake, but Owen was a champ. We only had to stop twice.
Having fun with grandpa. I took a shower and my dad was on babysitting duty. Owen was a little fussy, so my dad was trying to keep him entertained with my mom's table centerpiece. "Here, go nuts on this and play with these rocks." I think he has a few months, dad.
Jordan had a lot of fun golfing and we had fun hanging out with my mom and dad. We did lots of eating out, saw the help (one of my favorite books - I loved the movie too) and did a little shopping.
It was a quick trip, but was fun to get away! I love having my parents close so we can do quick trips like this.
Even though Jordan was staying in a different house and we only saw him for about 30 minutes a day, we still managed to get most of our pictures with just these two...

A week in phone pictures
I wish I was better at taking "real" pictures, but my cell phone is always right by my side. If something cute happens, it is usually captured with the phone... so here is a photo dump of sorts of pictures from the past week.
Watching the fan in our living room. He will crane his neck to get a good look at it sometimes. We have started turning it on when he's fussy and he will just sit there like this watching it.
With Jordan's friend Daniel at Coney's.
He has found his fist this week. Looks like he will carry on the Lewis tradition of thumb sucking.
All sharp and ready for church. It should also be noted that this was his first time wearing pants. He's a simple onesie sorta boy. I am so obsessed with babies in dress shirts. I want to go out and buy about 20 more.
All tuckered out at church.
Visiting with Auntie Kate and of course, fighting sleep.
Binky baby and luscious lips.
Watching outside for daddy to come home from work.
Baldy. Even though he actually does have hair, it is growing in BLONDE. So in every picture, he looks like he is bald.
Happy boy in the morning. He is always so happy and I am sad that I am the only one who usually gets to enjoy it! Besides on weekends when Jordan is home.

A little date.
This past weekend, Jordan and I got away for our first solo date without the baby. It felt weird going out to our car without a car seat in tow. And weird when we drove away without him in the back. Of course I thought every horrible thought possible and wished we could drive separate just in case something happened, at least one of us would be okay. I know, I'm crazy.
We ate at Cafe Madrid in Salt Lake. Have you ever had authentic Spanish food? Call me uncultured, but I had never and it was much different than I expected. I know it isn't close to like Mexican food, but I guess I expected there to be some influence. Like tortillas or something. It kind of reminded me of French or Italian food. Which makes sense since all are in Europe. I will admit, it was mighty nice to enjoy a meal with both hands/not have a baby attached to me while eating/have anxiety about the baby waking up any second/take longer than 3 minutes to enjoy a meal. Owen has this sixth sense lately of when I am thinking about eating...
Special thanks to Auntie Kate for babysitting. It might be awhile before we venture out and leave him with a real babysitter. I honestly can't believe people used to trust me to babysit. I started when I was 10! That's nuts and it gives me anxiety just thinking about it (also, I made like $3 an hour and the going rate nowadays is like $7+. What a jip!). Owen can be pretty fussy at night, so I was a little worried. But she kept him entertained with his favorite things: milk, windows, walls and light. He fell right asleep when we got back.

The King and His Bed
Nothing sweeter than an extra small baby sleeping in an extra big bed.
And yes, he's asleep with his eyes open. He does that a lot.

O's New Toy
Look at this new toy grammy bought for me! So many bright colors and cute little animals.
Hey wait... the toys are up here! Yoo hoo! Up here! Owen!
There must be something really interesting over there that's catching his attention
...
...
Or not.
Maybe we'll give it a few weeks.
In all honesty, Owen is OBSESSED with walls, ceilings and ceiling fans. The first time he gave me a huge smile, I was thinking that I was definitely his favorite. Then I came out to the living room where he gave the wall an even bigger smile. My confidence went down just a tad. Lucky for us, these things can pretty much be found anywhere.
Oh, to be 7 weeks old again...

Food Blog
I just started posting on a food blog a few weeks ago and thought I would share the link with everyone here as well. I post my weekly menu (which definitely holds me accountable!) and also recipes.
Come on over!
Here's a link to my posts, but there are two other authors who post as well.
