Let's Go to the Zoo!

We went to Hogle Zoo a couple of weeks ago with our cousins, the Patricks!  I don't think I had been to the zoo since an elementary field trip, but it's amazing how I could still remember so much.

amazed by the monkeys

Owen actually didn't really care for the elephants. and for a few days after, he would always skip really quickly over the elephant picture on his iPad game.

sorry Grammy... this was the best pic we could get!

loved this polar bear. he would swim backwards, then swim towards the glass and pop up right in front of the window. he did this probably 50 times while we were there!

up close and personal!

sweaty mess. I came directly from getting a massage. body covered in lotion + 100 degree heat do not mix well.  but look at that cute little mug!

snack time

missed getting a cute pic of them as a caboose. the pic is so blurry because I took it while literally running across the zoo to try to get the picture. fail.

Hannie's Reception and Wedding Day

A few pics from Hannah's special day!

It might seem like the pictures are out of order, but Hannah and Robert actually had a little open house in Magna the night before their wedding.

love this picture of this sweet boy

cutting the cake

Hannie was naughty and smashed it in Robert's face. Robert played nice and fed it to her sweetly

eating his birthday/wedding cake.  he shared his 5th birthday with Hannah's reception

this was an awkward moment as he was trying to reach up for the garter... but they weren't married yet! my dad stood right behind them with his watchful eye

what I wouldn't give for this picture to be clear. we were just being a bunch of dorks in our matching dresses

cute Morton fam

love that Hayden took her cheering seriously and opted for the cute pose instead

LOVE this pic.

what a bunch of goons

the only semi-decent pic of us. all of the others include Owen sticking his finger up his nose - his new trick of that day!

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

cute parents

excuse the blinding pic - I was shooting manually on my camera and forgot to switch it to auto for my brother in law to snap pics, but love this pic with almost all of my sisters (we missed you Natalie!)

sissies and mama

one sweet, tired boy

I lovingly refer to this photo as "what were we thinking??"  this is a Gildea wedding tradition. It started out as the wedding photographer seriously wanting to take a picture this way (maybe at Natalie's wedding?) and the tradition has stuck ever since.  I still can't figure out why we thought it was a good idea to give the shrimp half of the body weight to support on my own. As you can see, it almost didn't end well.

best.face.ever.

just a bunch of tweeties.

Hayden caught the bouquet!

bye bye newlyweds!
