Le Brain Dump

My blog has been so boring lately. So has my life. Since I work about 9 hours a day and go to school twice a week after work, I don't really have the time or the energy to go out much. But here are just a few things on my mind.

-Yesterday I had to send out about 50 letters from my office and I had to lick them shut before sending them. It reminded me of about exactly one year ago when I licked all of our wedding invitations to be sent out. Ok, I didn't lick them all. Jordan did a few, but he said that he didn't want to die from envelope glue poisoning, so he would lick a few and then be done. Thank you Seinfeld.

-We are getting new cell phones. Don't know when that will be. Or who we will be going with, but we are getting them. We have been married for almost a year, but we are both still practically on our parents' plans. My family's contract is up in March and Jordan's is up in June. I really wish they were a little closer in time because it would be a lot easier and cheaper to get two phones and a family plan at the same time. Technically, we could renew Jordan's T-mobile contract right now and get new phones, but we are not sure if we will go with them because we can get a better discount with Sprint. This change will also be a big deal since we will both be dropping our CA zip codes and will switch to the 801. I know. Exciting. I just really want Jordan to get a new phone ASAP because he is still sporting the pink razor. Which still means that he will only call me/text me from the comfort of our home. I am personally thinking I will be getting a Blackberry or maybe a Blackberry Pearl. We'll see.

-I really want to go on vacation. This is practically my summer break since I will be in school full time and working part time in the summer. I hate that my "summer" is filled with freezing temps and snow. But I am also loving the fact that I am not really in school right now. We'll see how I feel about my decision when I will be super stressed in the summer with all that I will be doing.

-I just found the coolest report on our bank website. It is called "My Spending Report". It basically gives me a break down of exactly how much money is coming in vs exactly how much money is going out. Yes, I could figure out this on my own, but it also gives me a breakdown of EXACTLY where my money is going. And when I say exactly, I mean exactly. Education, Restaurants, Gas, Clothes. All sorted automatically and for my little eyes to feast upon. Seriously. It is the coolest thing ever and I am really excited about it. Let's just say that this is quite the eye opener...

-So far, so good on my goals so far. The ponytails are slowly improving, but I just almost feel like a slob if I don't straighten my hair... not saying that people who don't are slobs, but I just personally feel like one. I also have been to the Temple already this year. I am on time sometimes to work. Mostly not by choice though. Jordan has an 8 am class three times a week, so I am here bright and early at 7:30. Wednesdays are quite the delight when I am at work at 7:30, work til 4:40 (no lunch break) and then go to class from 5-7:30. I know, you're jealous.

-They just completed the workout facility right outside of my door at my apartment complex. I guess all of my excuses about not having a gym pass and it being too cold outside just went right out the door...

Well that's all for now. Maybe someday I will get back into blogging, but when there is not much going on, there's just not much going on.

It's Been Awhile...

I have been such a bad blogger lately. With the last week of classes, finals, traveling, working, etc, I just have had no time to blog. But let's be honest, it is probably more of a desire thing. I just have had no DESIRE to blog. I don't know why.

Jordan did find a phone. A nice pink razor. He won't do anything with his phone in public because he is just not one of those "pink" kinda guys. (thank goodness). So if anyone still knows of something available, let me know. Otherwise, only expect to hear from Jordan when he is sitting in the comfort of his own home :)

We had a great Christmas. However, I didn't take a single picture to document any of it. We went to Visalia for Christmas to be with my family. After being there only four days, I definitely wasn't ready to leave yet. We then went to Vegas on our way home and spent a few days with Jordan's family. I wasn't ready to leave there either. But alas, I had to get back to my real life. Dang it.

New Years was spent with my sister Natalie and her family, who were visiting from Australia. Her kids are so much fun to be around. Last time I saw them was when I was getting married, so the time was short and Laine and Gabe were both on their deathbeds/cranky. So this visit was so much fun. Laine is getting so big and she is just about to start Kindergarten... I can't even believe it. I spent a few days with them, but I will save those pics for another post.

Here is a recap of our 2008:

January
-practically planned my entire wedding when my mom was out here for a weekend
-got our engagement pictures taken... twice
-went to my grandma's funeral. Even though it was really hard, and we still really miss her, it was her time.

February
-went through the Temple for the first time (Oakland, CA)
-spent our first Valentines Day together in a car driving to CA with my sister. How romantic.

March
-got married! Wahoo! (I honestly can't believe it has already been 10 months)
-went on a cruise to the Mexican Riveria... oh how I want to go back.
-moved to Sandy to live in my grandparent's basement and had the longest commute of all time. Work at 8 + 40 minute commute = two very tired people. We were rarely on time... not much has changed

April
-moved to Chicago. Getting there was less than fun. It still amazes me that people actually want to live in the places that we were forced to drive through. No offense to anyone that is from there...

May
-Jordan worked 12 hour days, I worked 9 hours days... confined in my apartment ALL. DAY. LONG. I left to go grocery shopping or to wander around Target.
-moved back to Utah. And happy to do so.
-found out Megan (Jordan's sister) was going to have a baby!

June
-moved into our first real apartment together.
-went to St. George with my family

July
-celebrated the 4th? I don't even really remember anything note worthy from July...

August
-Jordan started working for Wells Fargo... thank goodness he found a job to stay at.
-Jordan received notification that he is officially a resident of Utah! We were just glad because that saves us... roughly... $3,000/semester. So yes, this was good news.

September
- pretty uneventful... not much goes on when you are going to school full time and working 25 hours a week.

October
-dressed up for Halloween for the first time in years. Jordan did not participate in this. And I was dressed up for just a few hours at work. Don't make me relive when I got ripped off of the Halloween prize...

November
-celebrated my 22nd birthday
-had Thanksgiving at our house with the Patricks (Jordan's sister and fam) visiting from Vegas
-welcomed little baby Coleman into the world... and to Utah. I love that his birthplace will forever be Provo, UT although his family has never lived here.
-lived with 6 people in a 595 sq ft, one bedroom apartment. Surprisingly, it wasn't all that bad.

December
-celebrated Jordan's 24th birthday. He is such an old man now.
-survived finals
-hated the snow
-missed our family cruise
-spent lots of time with both of our families
-won a wii at my work's Christmas party. I had my eyes on the prize the whole time. I even got to pick the number that I wanted for the raffle (13 of course). I KNEW that I was going to win it (not the same kind of "knew" like I thought last year when I "knew" we were going to win a TV at the party). It was the last prize to be called. My hands were seriously so sweaty and my heart was beating so fast. We were all guessing the numbers and someone guessed 23. My boss said, no, but it has a 3 in it. So I squealed, 13! Sure enough, I won. I am quite the gamer and I am LOVING the wii. I only have three games, but I am saving up for more!
-drove to Vegas in the worst snow storm ever. We were driving 35 mph and under for about half of the drive. I think it took us 8 hours to get there. Just another reason to hate the snow.

This year has just flown by. We are happy to start the new 2009 year (even though we are already 12 days into it.)

Here are some of my goals for the new year
-Wear my hair in a ponytail more often. I know, probably one of the weirdest goals that you have ever heard. I'll be the fist to admit... it is. Especially since most goals would be the opposite. But I just do my hair way too much... and the ends are getting quite scary. Not to mention, my hair is as fine as 1 year old child's... I am just trying to give it a break from the blow dryer and flat iron. So far, so good.
-Exercise. I know this is everyone's goal and I am not doing it to lose weight... but I just need to get in shape. Seriously in shape. I am hoping to get the wii fit, but until then, I think they are building a fitness area in the "lounge" right across the way from my apartment. Literally, this will be within 5 feet of my door, so if I can't make it over there, heaven help me/
-Of course I have some spiritual goals which include going to the Temple more often and reading my scriptures.
-GRADUATE. I am really crossing my fingers for that December graduation. Wish me luck!
-find a new apartment. We have only been looking for about the last five months. We don't want to rush into anything like we did last time. So hopefully we can find a reasonably priced, 2 bedroom apartment that we can live in until Jordan graduates in like three years. Seeing as we are still living in our same apartment, the search is going great! We have found plenty of scary apartments, one bedroom apartments or $1,000/month 2 bedroom apartments... so that's awesome.

Well I think this post is quite long enough, so I will end it here. Maybe one day I will have the desire to blog again.
