I am officially in my 3rd trimester now. Part of me can't believe I am already 28 weeks and the other part can't believe I am only 28 weeks. Up to 20 weeks seemed to go by pretty fast, but it seems like the 20s have been draaaaggggiiiiinnnnggggg by. Only 2 more weeks til I am in the 30s!
26 weeks:
- Baby boy got the hiccups... I think. That, or he was just tapping his little foot rhythmically for 3 minutes straight. I am sure this isn't the first time he got them, but it was the first time I noticed them and realized what they were!
- He is starting to move more and more. My sister Kate came down to visit and we had lots of fun watching my belly move around.
- I'm always cold, but there have been a few times that I have gotten SO hot. Like I feel like I am a car overheating or something. In the middle of church, I had to walk up to get a program from someone in our ward so I could fan myself. And everyone started laughing because it was just so typical that the pregnant woman would be dying of heat!
- I haven't been able to pin the cause for this, but every once in awhile, I get light headed and my heart starts to race... kind of like how you feel right before you pass out. Luckily, I haven't ever passed out, but that's because I have laid down right away and fanned my face for 10 minutes. Anyone else have problems with this? Recommendations?
- You know that thing called Pregnancy Brain? I used to think it was made up. It's not. I like to think of myself as someone who is on top of things, but seriously the last few weeks, I am all over the place. I was the queen of multi-tasking, but that is completely out of the question now. And from what I've heard, it doesn't really get much better after the baby...
- The other day, I woke up from a deep sleep with a Charlie Horse. And when I say deep sleep, I mean it (I take a third of a unisom every night to sleep). It was so confusing to wake up and be in SO much pain and have no idea what was going on. I am pretty sure I just started thrashing my body around trying to fix the issue, but then I just ended up getting another one on the other leg. I think that Jordan slept through it, but I have no idea how. I was seriously just flailing my body around and hitting the bed trying to work through the pain. I finally jumped out of bed to flex my muscles and it was able to stop. I hope this doesn't become a normal occurrence because it is AWFUL.
- Yes, has to be hiccups. And he gets them all of the time! They are pretty subtle, but I can definitely feel them especially when they hit on the elastic of my jeans. It's like a little twitch for a few minutes straight.
- I think he has discovered his space because he is just stretching out. The other day, his head (I think, but actually have no idea) was up in my left ribs and then his feet (I think) were down in my right hips. Sometimes it feels like he is jumping in there because both sides of my stomach will be bouncing. Enjoy your space while you can little guy because it's only a matter of time before we are both squished!
- He is kicking so hard now. It's not miserable, but I can see my stomach bumping and moving around. And I swear he can hear me tell people because as soon as I'm like, "look!", he stops. I guess he just wants it to be our special moment or something :) Jordan has felt big kicks a few times and every time he's like, "that must be so annoying". I guess it's a good thing I am carrying the baby! Also, I'm pretty sure no one cares to see as much as I do, but I think it is fun to see my belly moving all around. I wish I could have a permanent ultrasound hooked up so I could actually SEE what he is doing.
- I used to pride myself in having a strong bladder. Like I could hold it for a LONG time. But my luck has ran out and I am up at least twice a night. It's really quite annoying, but I know I should be grateful for my sleep now.
- Sleeping has been getting uncomfortable. My shoulders are always really sore since I sleep on my side and I feel like I am tossing and turning all night. I think Jordan thinks that too.

Cute pictures, Kristine! I used to get leg and feet cramps all the time when I was pregnant. My doctor said it was lack of calcium so try eating yogurt, drinking milk and eating more cheese. I hope that works for you. It did for me.
oh man, i feel like i am reading a diary of my own pregnancy. emmy used to get the hiccups like every day at least once. she would also be pushing out in two places at once like she was really STRETCHING out in there. i never did have the charlie horse in the night problem, but i did have that pass out thing happen and it was scary. i would sit down right away and eat something and it would go away. so try eating.
you look great! can't wait 12 more weeks!
Ha! I loved reading this because I can relate to pretty much all of it. My first pregnancy I never had problems with almost passing out but this one, oh man, it is the worst. My dr. says sometimes the baby sits on a nerve and cuts off circulation. All you can do about it is sit down and try to relax. I get charlie horses all the time too. That is the worst way to be woken up. I'd take a baby crying at 2 am any day compared to that. You look great, Kristine! I hope the time speeds up for you because the end is the hardest part. Good luck with everything!
Looking so cute! Loved hearing about what is going on! Exciting to watch my baby having a baby! Those leg cramps are the worst! I am with Amy, you probably need more calcium. The hiccups and kicking stories were cute! Love you honey!
You're so cute! I get leg cramps too. I eat my banana's and everything. Then my doctor told me to drink gatorade. It cured me, weird, but it did!
